Meet the Principal
Steve McWilliams has been the Principal of Barrington High School since the 2008-09 school year.
As a 1993 graduate of BHS, the Barrington community holds a special place in his heart. During his high school years he participated in football and track. He was also editor of the yearbook. When he graduated, he knew he wanted to one day work as a high school teacher and coach. After four years at Drake University, he went on to teach biology at Streamwood High School for one year.
Then in 1998, five years after he graduated from BHS, Principal McWilliams had the opportunity to return home. For the next 10 years he held several positions at BHS including: Science Teacher, Dean, District Safety and Security Coordinator and Associate Principal.
In addition to his bachelor's degree from Drake, Principal McWilliams holds a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University. He also has a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Educational Leadership from National Louis University.
In his free time, Principal McWilliams enjoys gardening, landscaping, woodworking and fishing.
