Counseling

In partnership with parents/guardians, educators, and community stakeholders, the Barrington High School Counseling Department implements a comprehensive school counseling program and post-secondary counseling program, both of which promote student achievement and personal wellness.

School counselors are professional educators with a mental health perspective. School counselors do not work in isolation; rather they are integral to the total education program.

School counselors help all students in the areas of academic achievement, personal/social development and college/career development. Students work with the same counselor throughout their high school career.

In addition, students have access to school social workers and diagnostic and supportive services are available to students with special needs. Information on college admissions testing, financial aid, and post high school planning is available in the Student Services Office.
