Clair E. Smith Art Gallery
The Clair E. Smith Art Gallery serves as a vibrant showcase of creativity and artistic excellence across Barrington 220 and the wider community. Located within Barrington High School, the gallery features rotating exhibitions throughout the year, providing students, staff, alumni, and local artists with opportunities to share their work in a professional exhibition space. Annual exhibits include AP Art portfolios, the BHS Theme Show, a staff exhibition, the Middle School Extended Art Showcase, a rotating elementary school exhibition, alumni artists, and community artists. The gallery highlights the breadth of visual arts offered throughout the district, featuring drawing, painting, photography, digital art, ceramics, sculpture, jewelry and metals, woodworking, graphic design, photojournalism, mixed media, and more.
More than a display space, the gallery provides students with authentic opportunities to present their work to the public, building confidence, pride, and a sense of accomplishment. It also reflects Barrington 220’s commitment to creativity, innovation, and student voice. By showcasing artists of all ages and experience levels, the Clair E. Smith Art Gallery celebrates the power of the arts to inspire, connect, and enrich our school community.
